Glue Gun

Is glue from a Hot Glue gun an ok subsitute for construction glue?
I’m trying to make a ‘book’ shelf, where you take two L brackets and glue them onto a book to make a shelf, but I just realize I dont have any construction glue. Will a hot glue gun work? It will be a shelf to hold things when finished.
No, hot glue is not a replacement for construction glue. Hot glue is not strong enough. The bond from construction glue is stronger than the original wood.
You can buy a small tube of Liquid Nails, about the size of a tube of tooth paste at your hardware store.
